Ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by shells and stones. This passion faded over the years, but a year ago, during a visit to Wimereux, I found such beautiful shells that the idea came to me to turn them into jewelry. No sooner said than done, and now, a year later, here I am with my own brand: gwnSAAR. I never would have believed it myself.

The unique touch of gwnSAAR
What makes my jewelry so special is that every piece is one of a kind. No two shells or stones are alike, which makes each piece of jewelry truly unique. Each shell is carefully hardened to make it more durable and able to withstand rough handling. From collecting and hardening the shells to knotting them. I do everything myself, by hand.
My artisanal process
When selecting shells, I look for ones that are intact. I don’t work with broken pieces. I then harden them with epoxy, making them durable so you can wear them with confidence. After this process, the actual jewelry making begins: I decide on the design and start knotting with micro-macramé threads. It’s a journey of discovery, every single day.
